December 16th, 2005

Well, it's be awhile since I updated the blog. I had a few requests to update for people that don't speak to either Jackie or myself on a regular basis.

Jackie returned from the Mayo Clinic on Tuesday of this week. She has made good progress on her recovery. Her counts were near normal in many categories. The exception was her platelet count which stands at 31. This is far better than the 1 she had a few weeks ago, but far below the normal of 100 or above.

Jackie feels OK when she is taking the Prednisone, but is very weak and tired when she loses the "kick" from the drug. The good news is that she will no longer need to take her weekly chemo session in Tulsa. She will go back to a three week schedule for treatment at the Mayo Clinic.

On December 27th we will be having a bone marrow donor/stem cell donor drive here in Pryor. Anyone wishing to become a potential donor can contact either Jackie or myself.

With regard to the transplant timeframe, we will need to find a matched-unrelated-donor (MUD) for Jackie. Testing revealed that her sister will not be a match. Once Jackie's treatments are finished and she is in as deep a remission as possible they will begin the search for a donor in earnest.

From both Jackie and myself, we wish everyone a very happy holidays.

Sincerely,

Bruce AND Jackie
